If you’re excited to see final movie in the Skywalker saga then you will want to check out Vanity Fair’s extensive look behind the scenes of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Vanity Fair in their latest issue gives it’s readers a behind the scenes look at the newest Star Wars movie The Rise of Skywalker due out in theaters this coming December.
Abrams kicked off this new trilogy in 2015 by directing The Force Awakens, Rian Johnson directed the follow up with “The Last Jedi” in 2017 and Colin Trevorrow who was originally hired to direct Episode Nine left the project after he and Lucasfilm parted ways over creative differences.
Kathleen Kennedy then reached out and asked J.J. Abrams‘ to return to the director’s chair for Episode Nine. The Rise of Skywalker will bring the story of the Skywalker family to a close and Abrams with episode nine faced a challenge in not just bringing this sequel trilogy to a close, but bringing the entire nine-film saga to a close as well. Saying…
“That’s the challenge of this movie, It wasn’t just to make one film that as a stand-alone experience would be thrilling, and scary, and emotional, and funny, but one that if you were to watch all nine of the films, you’d feel like, Well, of course—that!”
Vanity Fair’s article points out that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will bring the millennia-long conflict between the Jedi and the Sith to a conclusion. Even though the article doesn’t elaborate as to how it shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially after Lucasfilm revealed that Palpatine was returning for episode nine when we heard his unmistakable laugh at the end of the teaser trailer.
