Paramount studios released some new information concerning two of it’s movie franchises.
Star Trek 3:
J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay have been hired to help Roberto Orci in writing the 3rd Star Trek movie. Alex Kurtzman who helped write the first two Star Trek movies with Orci will not be a part of the third movie.
Currently there is still no official word as to who will be directing the third movie. J.J. Abrams roll will be that of producer for the third installment as his time is being taken up with Star Wars.
Paramount is hoping for a 2016 release date, Star Trek’s 50th Anniversary, but there again no official date has been set yet.
Beverly Hills Cop 4:
Jerry Bruckheimer will be returning to one of his early movie producing jobs for Paramount. Beginning in April of 2014 Bruckheimer will begin a three year deal with the studio and his first project will be Beverly Hills Cop 4.
Eddie Murphy will return to reprise his role as the street savvy detective Axel Foley. Brett Ratner will direct the film once he finishes up his duties with his current project, Hercules.
Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec who wrote Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol have been hired by Paramount to write the script.
No release date has been set.
