The new television series will tell the origin story of Commissioner Gordon beginning with his days as a rookie detective in Gotham City.
The show will begin airing in the fall on Fox and follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes.
Gordon will have encounters with gang boss Fish Mooney, a teenaged Selina Kyle the future Catwoman and Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin. Plus we will see the beginnings of a friendship with a young Bruce Wayne his butler, Alfred.
Detective James Gordon grew up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs and romanticized the city where his late father once served as a successful district attorney as a glamorous and exciting metropolis. Gotham will follow the young detective’s turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City Police Department as he navigates the multiple layers of corruption that secretly rule Gotham City and will also focus on the unlikely friendship that he forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune.
