Batman: Gotham By Gaslight Sneak Peek

Get an extended look at Warner Brothers next animated movie Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, when a Victorian Era Dark Knight pursues Jack the Ripper.

Gotham by Gaslight is considered to be the first Elseworld story where a DC Comics hero is taken out of their usual setting and put into alternate timelines or realities. Initially released as a one-shot in February of 1989 Gotham by Gaslight was written by Brian Augustyn and ranks 11th on a list of the 25 greatest Batman graphic novels.

The story line in the comic is relative small and the movie will be giving us an expanded look at the story, something fans of the comic may find exciting. Batman: Gotham by Gaslight was announced earlier this year during San Diego Comic-Con and should be released first half of 2018.

“Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay” and “Death of Superman” will be the other two DC animated movies to be released in 2018. “Death of Superman” will be the first part of Superman’s fatal battle with Doomsday and is said to be more faithful to the source material. “Reign of the Supermen”, the second part will see an early 2019 release.

The eight-minute first look at “Batman: Gotham By Gaslight” will come as a special feature on the “Batman and Harley Quinn” movie being released Tuesday August 29th 2017 on home video .
