So what happens when you take a hero and a villain from an 1980’s kids cartoon series and put them in the roles of Baby and Johnny from a 1980’s Patrick Swayze movie? Commercial gold!
First let me say this is something I wouldn’t normally post on, but when it makes me laugh out loud like this did I make an exception.
If you were a kid growing up in the early to mid 1980’s then most likely you spent many of hours in front of your parents television set watching He-Man and The Masters of the Universe cartoon series. By today standards the 1980’s He-Man cartoon series is considered cult viewing for cartoon aficionados, even if it is a bit on the cheesy side.
In 1987 they sent He-Man to the big screen to battle Skeletor in a poor attempt of an live action movie and over the years several attempts have tried to put a newer version in theaters, but always ended in development hell. Although a newer live action reboot is currently scheduled to hit theaters in 2019.
If your a fan of He-Man you may not be aware that he and Skeletor seem to have a fondness for dancing, that’s right I said dancing. In a commercial for the website MoneySuperMarket both He-Man and Skeletor recreate the iconic dance from the movie Dirty Dancing that starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Using the actual song from the movie “The Time of My Life” sung by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes, He-Man and Skeletor show off there dance moves and even do the lift. Yes, the same lift done in the movie by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey and nobody puts Skeletor in the corner.
Watch the video and let me know what you thought.
