Adam West returns to the role that made him famous one last time as the voice of Batman in the 2016 sequel to “Batman Return of the Caped Crusaders”.
In his final portrayal as Batman, Adam West and Burt Ward will go up against Two-Face voiced by William Shatner. Based on an unproduced two-part episode written for the 1960’s Batman television series entitled “The Two-Way Crimes of Two-Face”.
“Batman Return of the Caped Crusaders” was widely considered a success with critics and fans, as it was a nice break from all the gritty darkness that the movies have portrayed over recent years. What I loved though about the “Return of the Caped Crusaders” and in case you haven’t seen the movie you may not want to read this next part is it had a wonderful plot twist roughly twenty-five to thirty minutes into the movie that turned Batman into the villain for the remainder of the movie.
If “Batman vs. Two-Face” can deliver on the same fun and campyness that made “Return of the Caped Crusaders” so enjoyable to watch then I can’t wait for this movie to come out on Blu-ray.
Of course we can’t forget that we lost Adam West on June 9th of this year after a short battle with leukemia. Thankfully he had already completed his work for this movie and even though this is the last time we get to hear him as Batman we still have several episodes in which he will hear him in the upcoming season of Family Guy as Mayor West.
“Batman vs. Two-Face” is scheduled for release on Blu-ray and DVD on October 17th with a digital release one week earlier on October 10th.
“Batman vs Two-Face” will feature the voices of Adam West as Bruce Wayne, Julie Newmar as Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Burt Ward as Dick Grayson (Robin), and William Shatner as Harvey Dent (Two-Face).
